BBQ pulled pork plates, desserts, live music & more! Drive-thru!
Join us at the Smiths Station pavilion Saturday, July 17 from 3-7 EST (2-6 CST) for barbecue pulled pork and live music at this fund-raiser for a local girl battling Osteosarcoma.
Matt Stephens will play a variety of country tunes throughout the day and there will be a bounce house for the kids. Eat in or drive thru! Plates include pulled pork, baked beans, mac and cheese, pickles, onions, choice of bread or roll and a beverage. Extra beverages and desserts will also be sold at the event.
Many thanks to our sponsors: Carvana, Will Bailey, Mike and Ed’s barbecue, First Christian Church of Lanett and Smiths Station Baptist Church.
Cara was diagnosed in October 2019 with Osteosarcoma, the most common type of bone cancer, when her parents noticed a large lump above her left knee. After nine months of chemotherapy and surgery to remove the tumor and replace her knee and part of her femur, she was able to stop treatments in July 2020. Unfortunately, a routine scan in February 2021 found the cancer had returned, this time to her lungs, and has metastasized. She is currently undergoing another round of intensive chemotherapy treatments.
Cara is an eighth grader at Smiths Station Junior High and loves video games, her family and her cat, Jasmine. She has two younger sisters, Caylee and Chloe. Her parents, John and Laura, travel with Cara multiple times each month to Birmingham for chemo treatments.
Please help this wonderful family by purchasing meal tickets or making a donation via their Go Fund Me page. All proceeds pay for expenses associated with Cara's cancer treatments. Please follow Cara's story on Facebook on the Carastrong page.
