First, today's weather: Clear throughout the day. High: 94 Low: 57. Here are the top stories in Sacramento today: Lots of people took to the waterways in Sacramento this weekend to beat the heat. These river revelers have it right. They recommend life jackets, a designated driver, lots of water and sunscreen. Stay safe, Sacramento! (FOX40)The excessive heat warning ends today, but not before Sacramento set a new record high this weekend. Downtown broke the record with temperatures of up to 113 on Saturday. The last record was 109 set in 2002. (ABC10) A rising basketball star out of Belgium will be coming to Sacramento on Monday to participate in a pre-draft workout with the Kings. Vrenz Bleijenbergh a 6-foot-11 wing who played for the Antwerp Giants in Belgium is coming to Sacramento after participating in a multiday combine-style workout for all teams in Minnesota over the past few days. He also had workouts with the Oklahoma City Thunder, Memphis Grizzlies and New York Knicks. (Sacramento Bee) Two people killed in an overnight crash on Saturday night have been identified. They are Raquel Hudson and DeJuana Byrd – both 28 years old from Sacramento. Raquel "Rocky" Hudson is being remembered by friends and colleagues as a smile that lights up a room. Both women will be missed. Two others were involved in the crash. One is still in the hospital in critical condition and the other was released with minor injuries.
