WEST WHITELAND TOWNSHIP, PA — An Exton man has been charged with Simple Assault and Strangulation after an incident on Saturday night. Law enforcement reportedly went to an Exton address at 10:30 p.m. and the police response ended in charges for Andrew D. Shay, 36, of Exton. West Whiteland Township Police reported Shay is charged with Strangulation and Simple Assault, both misdemeanors, and with Harassment — subjecting another to physical contact, a summary offense. No other details were provided in a police report. According to court records, bail was set at $10,000 and a preliminary hearing is scheduled for July 22.
