JOLIET, IL — Joliet police are seeking the community's help in solving Friday night's shooting of a 26-year-old man that left him critically injured. The shooting happened on the sidewalk in the 600 block of Garnsey Avenue, which is on Joliet's east side. Police learned of the shooting around 8:15 p.m. "Officers located a 26-year-old male victim on the sidewalk who appeared to have sustained numerous gunshot wounds," Joliet Police Sgt. Dwayne English notified Joliet Patch. "The victim was transported to Silver Cross Hospital by the Joliet Fire Department, where he remains in critical condition." According to Joliet police, Friday night's shooting is an ongoing investigation and is still in its early stages.
