Men Charged In Elmhurst Burglary: Cops

ELMHURST, IL – Two men placed under arrest on charges of heroin possession over the weekend were also found to have more than $10,000 in stolen equipment in their car, police said. The men were stopped for tinted windows about 5 a.m. Saturday, according to a police report. During a search of the car, a large quantity of Hilti brand power tools were found, police said. A check of the Hilti Store, 135 W. Diversey Ave., revealed two parked work vehicles that had broken windows and power tools removed, the report said. Joseph E. Griffin, 50, of Harvey, and James Robinson, 59, of Calumet Park, were arrested on charges of possession of a controlled substance, burglary, attempted theft of stolen goods exceeding $10,000 and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. They were taken to the DuPage County Jail.
