Press release from the City of Cleveland Heights: City OperationsCain Park Residents Day is June 26Residents have access to a special block of tickets Cain Park has set aside that are not available anywhere else but at Residents Day on June 26 at the Cain Park Ticket Office. This year, the majority of events are General Admission and some have already sold out of the top ticket price on Ticketmaster.com. But residents can still buy them at Cain Park on Saturday, June 26 from 9am to 5pm. Details are available on the website as are the new 2021 policies. Get Your Tickets to Concert & Cookout at the RecThe Senior Activity Center invites one and all to come and enjoy a concert (12 noon) and cookout (11:30am) in the Community Center parking lot on July 2. After lunch, the Marshall Griffith Duo will play an hour of favorites in front of the Community Center. Tickets are $5, lunch is free and each person in a car must have a ticket. For more information and to pre-order lunch, call 216-691-7377. Tickets are now on sale. This event is sponsored by community donations and the Cleveland Heights Office on Aging. City Hall Offices and Community Center ClosedIn recognition of Juneteenth as a federal holiday, City Hall offices and the Community Center will be closed on June 25. In observance of Independence Day, the Community Center will be closed on July 4 and July 5; City Hall offices will be closed on July 5. Parks & Recreation Nature Hike at Lower Lake on June 29Join the Nature Center at Shaker Lakes team for a walk along the Lower Lake and the Nature Center's All Peoples' Trail. Discover the sights and sounds of summer while walking alongside the lake and marsh habitats. The walk is 1.5-2 miles and is suitable for families and adults. Cost is $5 per person and register by going online, selecting 2021 Summer, community outreach events, and nature hike event. MoreCoventry Final Friday June 25The popular evening event series takes place on the last Friday of each month on Coventry. Final Fridays feature an all-night happy hour (5-9pm) at participating bars, discounted shopping at local merchants, a sidewalk art walk, live entertainment, and engaging activities for all! Cedar Fairmount Summer FunCedar Fairmount celebrates summer with family fun on June 26 from 2 to 4pm including hands-on art projects and chalk artistry. Coventry PEACE Park Design Jam on June 27The Coventry PEACE Park Design Jam takes place on Sunday, June 27 from 1 to 4pm to help gather input from the community about how best to improve the park. Five stations will be set up for participants to take an interactive survey, share park memories, show favorite places in the park, rate the landscape architects' ideas, and for children to create their own dream park. Preliminary design proposals will be presented on July 24 with final plans on September 20. Voter Registration Deadline for Special ElectionThe League of Women Voters reminds all residents that July 6 is the deadline to register in order to vote in the August 3 Congressional District 11 primary election (partisan).
