JOHNS CREEK, GA — One recent Johns Creek high school graduate is among more than 1,000 additional Merit Scholarship recipients from around the county who will receive funding for college over the next four years. The recipient, who was announced Monday, joins more than 3,100 other National Merit Scholarship award winners who were named earlier this year. Officials from each sponsor college or university selected scholarship winners from among the finalists of the National Merit Scholarship Program. College-sponsored financial awards provide between $500 and $2,000 annually for up to four years of undergraduate study at the institution sponsoring the award. The scholarship recipients will receive a total of nearly $30 million.
