THE ROLE As a Bartender at our café in Atlanta, you are responsible for delivering the ultimate experience for our guest. Our Café offers a unique food & beverage experience, inspired by ingredients and customs that align with the spectacle that is being shown within the attraction. This means guests can order local cuisine from Africa or unique cocktails inspired by the universe. Café associates will utilize storytelling, introducing unique flavors that can be found on the menu and encourage guests to choose something they have never tried before. In addition to the operation of the café and outdoor patio, our cafe is a unique event destination, supported by the Café team. Café operational team members will be integral to the successful execution of our client’s events. At our Cafe, we strive to democratize experiences and thus our team members need to be alert and observant, making every guest feel acknowledged and taken care of. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS • Follow all policies and procedures as outlined in the Food & Beverage SOP • Ensure proficient up to date knowledge of all Cafe products, promotions and services • Check guests’ identification to verify legal age requirements, assuring appropriate measures to ensure guests are not overserved • Remain observant to guests’ needs and well informed on menus and specials. Utilize suggestive sales techniques to drive revenue and sale through • Operate the bar in the café and the nighttime experience, prepare drinks, and provide information on menu options to guests • Manage operational readiness of the café bar and set up and break down of the bars for the nighttime experience and required support for events • Ensure the bar and its surroundings remain clean including, but not limited to: back of bar floors, bar chairs and general look and feel. Coordinate with Porters on inventory of china and smallwares • Perform other related duties, tasks, and responsibilities as required QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, the candidate must be able to perform each essential duty above at the highest levels. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. • All applicants must be at least 18 years of age • High school diploma or equivalent preferred • Certification as a mixologist from a reputable bartending school preferred • 1+ years of experience working as a bartender • Achieve and maintain current food handler’s certification • Engaging, personable and positive attitude; strong customer service and interpersonal skills • Ability to stand and walk extended distances both indoors and outdoors, lift and transport items weighing 10-20 pounds, occasionally 30 pounds. Support with event set up and tear down. • Creative thinker, support with the creation of new items on the bar menu, anticipate guest needs • Ability to operate independently and with discretion and work effectively under pressure • Must have sufficient mobility to perform assigned tasks including: constant reaching, bending, pushing, and pulling for extended periods of time • Eye for detail, flexibility in daily tasks, problem solver, result oriented • Ability to retain detailed information related to all Cafe products, promotions & services • Ability to communicate effectively with management, colleagues and guests; bi-lingual skills are preferred • Must be flexible to work extended hours including late nights, weekends and holidays • Practice safe work habits, follow all safety policies and procedures and regulations including but not limited to the companies’ COVID Preparedness Plan and Standard Operating Procedures, complete company-wide safety training and any additional job specific safety training. • Follow and encourage your team to follow all safety policies and procedures, looking for and reporting any unsafe work conditions, and complete company-wide safety training and any additional job specific safety training. • Report all safety incidents (injuries and illnesses) into the company’s risk management system (Origami Risk) on the same day that the safety incident has been reported to you.
