Due to sales growth we are currently searching for a full time Shop Tech at our Springfield, OR. location. Shift: 8am-5pm Monday-Friday. Responsibilities: fire extinguisher testing, inspection, and filling to required industry standards, maintaining shop inventory, assisting occasional walk-in customers, and gaining required NFPA knowledge for fire & life safety. **visit our website at www.nationalextinguisher.com to learn more about these products. This position is entry level but we hire for the future, which can include working in the field directly with our customers to sell, service and educate them on their fire protection requirements, or becoming the most capable shop tech ever. Working with safety as a priority, attention to detail and quality work are critical to this job—we can’t have our products fail in the field when our customers are trying to operate them to fight fires. Trouble shooting, teamwork, judgment, organization, shop housekeeping, adaptability, and confidence in acting decisively in a fast-paced, deadline-sensitive environment are also critical. Dependability….the ability to arrive at work on time, each day, ready to work…our customers will need this from you. One of the most important functions of this position is the ability to self-manage while prioritizing and scheduling your work flow. The position does have lifting requirements (up to 75 lbs. frequently). As our Shop Tech you should truly enjoy the challenge & satisfaction of making sure our customers have the correct fire protection when they need it. It also helps if you are genuinely interested in the products we sell--anything mechanical, industrial, welding, and fire-suppression related. Why Us?
