Description
I have two bantam bobtail cochin cockerels for discussion who hatched 2/19/21, one is frizzle and the other one isn't, both came from papas poultry (.com) in Redding. They are bonded buddies and I'd like to see them to stay together if possible. They have excellent teamwork skills, together they set out to protect their girls, being small it's helpful to have a buddy watching your back and getting the bigger guy (or cat) from both sides! The Frizzle is the alpha of the two and one who does most of the crowing, though they don't crow excessively they do crow. The smooth one typically only crows when his buddy isn't in sight, then the frizzle crows and he goes running to find him. Marco Polo anyone? Frizzle welcomes pets and loving, the smooth one is a little more skittish and will try to run at first but once you pick him up he settles in for some love. They are cute, cuddly, curious and fun to watch, but unfortunately I hatched too many boys this season, and my bigger guys are starting to pick on these guys a little too much.. They need a coop of their own with some lovely ladies to watch after or even just a bachelor pad.
Being bantam roosters they do have a squeaky voice crow which is hilarious! They aren't aggressive and do well in the coop but they do need a good ramp to get into coops and up to a roosting bar, they seem to fear heights a bit and prefer to be closer to the ground.
