Camp Bow Wow Columbia MD is seeking highly motivated team-players who love dogs and cleaning for our Camp Counselor role. General: • Camp Counselor team members supervise and ensure the safety of our campers, while carrying out our extensive cleaning protocols. We strive to provide a safe, fun, and clean environment for our campers, our team members, and our guests at all times. Essential Functions: • Monitor play yards of dogs of all sizes, maintain continuous focus and attention on dog interactions. • Observe and learn animal behavior and appropriately assign dogs to the proper play yards. • Feed and administer medications as directed. • Perform dog health checks throughout the day. • Support and later conduct dog behavior evaluation and assessment (also called interview) by carefully monitoring dog behavior and reactions with one another and the Camp team. • Clean play yards, cabins and all common spaces: mopping, sweeping, and scrubbing. • Perform dog washes, nail trims, and other basic dog grooming tasks. • Perform janitorial duties: restocking supplies, taking out the trash and basic kennel maintenance. • Attend additional training as management deems necessary. • Perform all other duties as directed. Physical Elements: • Lifting & Carrying: This role involves carrying or lifting dogs (in specific situations), inventory, pet food, retail supplies, cleaning and grooming supplies. A maximum of 50 pounds lifting capacity is required for this position. Shift: • Full Time – Including weekends and holidays. Open availability 7 Days a week. Scheduling flexibility is required due to seasonality. • Hours of operation – 6:30am to 7:00pm 365 day a year. Education/Experience: • High School diploma or equivalent. • REQUIRED - Experience professionally working with dogs.
