We are a guitarist, drummer, and bassist who have been playing together since 2015 in DC. Our sound verges on post-rock with jazz and R&B influences. Our tastes are pretty eclectic – we’re into all kinds of music – like Hiatus Kaiyote, Khruangbin, J Dilla, Jai Paul, Yeasayer, Nick Drake, Fela Kuti, and J Dilla. Basically, it’s experimental, and we’re looking to make ambitious, complex, and interesting original music. We live in DC and have played in some prominent local venues like DC9 and Songbyrd in different band configurations. We’re looking for more musicians to flesh out our sound, with more textures and, ideally, vocals. We’d like to find 1-2 of the following: keyboardist, vocalist, and/or guitarist - Would prefer someone who has experience and desire to experiment sonically with effects, synths, or electronics, if keyboardist or guitarist - We’d like to commit to 1 practice per week at 7Drum City (a practice studio at 1506 N. Capitol Street N.E.) or elsewhere - Needs to have time to work on individual material in between practices - Preferred to have some music or lyrical composition background - We’re looking for people in or close to DC who can easily make it to practice.
