Description
The United Jewish Council of the East Side (UJCES) works to support the Lower East Side and wider NYC community through a wide range of human services and community development programs.
UJCES volunteers are essential to our mission as we serve the community. With families spread out or non-existent, long-time residents of the Lower East Side don't have family they can count on for the help they need. We support our neighbors with food assistance, including prepared meals.
Volunteers assist the team at UJCES's Adult Luncheon Club on site, during Grab & Go lunch distributions. Tasks include handing out meals, assisting with a sign-in process, monitoring social distancing, and supporting staff as needed.
No experience is necessary. UJCES practices recommended social distancing and safety protocols related to COVID-19.
TIME & DATES:
We are looking for volunteers who are available weekdays, 11:45 a.m. - 1:15 p.m., during July 2021.
HOW TO SIGN UP:
Please complete an online application form at ujceastside.org/volunteer-nyc. You must be 18+ years old to volunteer. Apply as soon as possible to start the application process, which may include an informal interview/orientation and reference checks.
