Family Reunion recognizes the need for joy to level out the events of the past year while celebrating our full humanity in motion. On Thursday, August 5th from 4-8pm, we are hosting a family reunion! Family Reunion is a concept series presented by The Adius Arts Initiative to provide a moment of joy & release. The Family Reunion recognizes the need for joy to level out the events of the past year while celebrating our full humanity in motion. This event is sponsored by BioMed Realty and in collaboration with The Lazu Group and Glass House. Family Reunion Kayaks & Cocktails will feature art, music, poetry and networking for all its attendees. Hosted in Canal District Kendall, Cambridge – an area often out of reach for many Cantabrigians – the outdoor gathering hopes to activate the space for all to thrive. We will have kayaking* available (first 25 are free) with Charles River Canoe & Kayak, live activation with sparc! the ArtMobile and the Center for Art and Community Partnerships artist Ekua Holmes with MassArt, music by DJ Nomadik, DJ Bobby Bangers & Real P, live poetry by artist DZIDZOR, and a powerful closing by storyteller, Valerie Stephens. * Per Massachusetts' Boating Under the Influence (BUI) law, consuming alcohol prior to kayaking is prohibited.
