Wonderful Danbury couple is seeking a full-time House Manager. This is a household of 2 people. The House Manager will supervise a small team consisting of housekeepers and landscape/garden workers, and will be expected to pitch in and work alongside them as needed (i.e., cleaning, dusting, laundry, moving items, etc.). The ideal candidate will be hands-on and detail-oriented to ensure a smooth-running household. He/she will be experienced with overseeing maintenance details -- both inside and out -- and will possess a general knowledge of the technical aspects of a home. He/she will work closely with the Estate Manager. Key qualities of the successful candidate will be strong organization and teamwork. Job Duties include: --Oversee aspects of housekeeping, deep cleaning and household organization --Daily walkthrough of property including monitoring for leaks, structural/landscape damage, testing HVAC, IT, monitoring security systems, pool temperature. Provide timely support and assistance to ensure all is in working order. --Manage/supervise all vendors i.e., pool maintenance, pest control, trainers, and other contractors; and their access to property --Coordinate maintenance of family vehicles --Manage household inventory levels to ensure home is well stocked at all times; manage deliveries and order household supplies; manage and assist with running household errands, shopping, etc. --Oversee and assist with special/seasonal projects --Manage museum-quality cleaning of fine furniture, art, and antiques --Pet care as needed --Coordinate with Principals, Estate Manager, contractors, and staff regarding all issues --Manage staff scheduling and household budgets, records, files and expenses --Review and update household manuals, with the help of the Estate Manager --Manage and assist with occasional entertaining; knowledge of healthy cooking a plus. --Maintain the privacy and confidentiality of the family at all times Job Requirements: --Preference for local candidates in the Danbury area --5+ years of private household experience preferred --Experience in managing household staff and indoor/outdoor maintenance --Must have a "no job is too big or too small" attitude. Team player. Hands-on attitude is extremely important. --Strong fluency of the English language; must have excellent written/verbal communication skills --Tech-savvy (knowledge of home security systems, IT, Lutron or similar, Apple platform) --Experience in working with Microsoft Word and Excel --Willing and able to do minor emergency repairs and home tasks --Flexibility with work schedule, i.e. able to work longer hours when needed, weekends and/or holidays --Longevity in past positions with verifiable references --Professional and service-oriented attitude, high energy and strong work ethic --Knowledge of caring for museum-quality art --Self-motivator, self-starter and proactive --Ability to do light cooking, as needed, is a plus --Pet-friendly --Must be discreet re: the privacy and needs of the family; must be willing to sign a confidentiality agreement --Willing to undergo a comprehensive background check --Legal to work in the U.S. with valid driver’s license
