We are looking for a part-time custodian to work 10-20 hours a week, including weekday evenings and weekends. Duties and Responsibilities: -Perform general, routine custodial duties, including dusting, mopping, vacuuming, cleaning restrooms, and restocking paper and soap supplies. -Perform setup and breakdown of classrooms and event spaces including setting up (and later breaking down) seating, sound and video equipment, and foodservice (coffee urns, water pitchers, etc.). -Perform routine maintenance to custodial equipment and supplies. -Empty trash receptacles, dispose of trash into dumpsters, recycling, or compost for proper disposal. -Unlock doors, ensuring doors are locked after cleaning areas. -Reports need and concerns to appropriate staff, which may include submitting or recommending work orders and checking supply levels. -Ensures proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies -Promote continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices. -Assist in on-the-job training of new staff or volunteers on routine procedures. -Perform cleaning functions specific to the assigned facilities and/or based on seasonal/project requirements. -May provide vendors with access to areas for cleaning and may answer basic questions. May report issues with vendors to supervisor. -May assist or perform minor maintenance, such as replacing light bulbs, adjusting furniture, or other similar activities. -Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned. Knowledge and Skills Required: -Ability to understand verbal instructions in English. -Ability to understand and follow safety procedures in English. -Ability to operate vacuums and other related equipment. -Ability to safely use cleaning equipment and supplies. -Ability to use hand and power tools applicable to trade. -Ability to lift and manipulate heavy objects. -Ability to read, understand, follow, and enforce safety procedures. -Ability to understand written and verbal communications. Hours: Monday-Thursday: 6:00-8:00 pm Friday: 3:00-5:00 pm Saturday: 8:30 am-1:30 pm Requirements, Working Conditions, and Physical Effort Must be able to pass a pre-employment background check. Must be fully vaccinated. Considerable physical activity. Requires heavy physical work; heavy lifting, pushing or pulling required of objects up to 50 pounds. Physical work is a primary part (more than 70%) of the job. The work environment involves some exposure to hazards or physical risks, which require following basic safety precautions. Work may involve moderate exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and/or loud noises.
