Caricature! Some basics about facial features, pen pressure, materials, and live practice! I have been a caricature artist for the past decade and want to share my knowledge with y’all! If you would like to get better at character design or portraiture, caricatures are a great place to develop familiarity with likeness, speed, style, exaggeration, and hinting at shapes instead of drawing every line. If you’ve ever wanted to learn the foundations of caricaturing, come to my class! We’ll be covering topics like: Breaking the face down into basic shapesVarying pressure on the marker for dramatic linesCommon shapes for eyes, noses, mouthsProportions and how to exaggerate themThis class will split people into pairs. Your final task, after learning the basics, is to draw your partner! Join me at Crafts and Drafts NC on July 21st from 6-8pm. To cover the cost of materials, tickets will cost $25. See you there! All skill levels welcome. There will be snacks and alcohol available for purchase at Crafts and Drafts NC (who are awesome for hosting us).
