ONE Neighborhood Builders is celebrating completion of our $17-million King Street Commons development and 2 of our 5 Sheridan Small Homes.
Together, these projects are transforming a portion of the Olneyville neighborhood, which is ONE Neighborhood Builders’ historic home.
King Street Commons has revitalized vacant and blighted properties along King Street. The 2.5-acre project includes 30 new affordable rental apartments and an on-site child care center along King Street and 32 renovated affordable apartments in Elmwood.
The story of our zero-energy Sheridan Small Homes began with a spark of inspiration stemming from Rhode Island School of Design (RISD) architecture students who participated in the Race to Zero Student Design Competition sponsored by the U.S. Department of Energy. Sheridan Small Homes have now risen out of the ground, with dual goals of demonstrating the potential of pairing net-zero energy design with affordable housing and providing five income-eligible households with comfortable, functional, and affordable new homes.
