RENTON, WA — A busy weekend continued for King County firefighters Sunday, as a fast-moving brush fire spurred evacuations in Renton. The flames were mostly knocked down by 7 p.m. p.m., thanks to a multi-agency effort between the Renton Regional Fire Authority, Eastside Fire, Puget Sound Fire, the Port of Seattle Fire Department and the Tukwila Fire Department. The fire threatened several homes and an apartment complex spurring a brief evacuation. Firefighters said a large fire truck designed to handle aircraft incidents at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport helped extinguish the flames.
