Description

According to DEBKAfile, a 20-year-old website for things '-ish' related: Large haul of handguns smuggled from Lebanon for terrorist ops Israeli security forces report the interception of their fifth haul of smuggled weapons from Lebanon this year. They were believed to be destined for terrorist operations by Israeli Arabs on behalf of the Iranian-backed Hizballah. The 43 Glock handguns and ammo, worth an estimated NIS2.7 million (app $820,000), were exhibited on Friday after being seized in the divided village of Gajar. Senior Hizballah activist Hadj Khalil Harb, a close ally of Hassan Nasrallah, was identified as the organization’s master smuggler of weapons and drugs. The sources report that a number of cross-border terrorist attacks were foiled in recent months. They indicate that Hizballah wants to stay in the terrorist game without directly showing its hand in order for fear of popular disapproval at a time of profound penury in Lebanon. Just so you're clear, $820,000 divided by 43 Glocks equals roughly $20,000 per firearm. With a ~%1500 markup, there's only one explanation: Israeli operatives, in Lebanon, sell weapons to Lebanese, while telling the IDF ahead of time when and where the meeting occurs so that the Lebanese leaving the meeting, and the weapons, can also be followed. The IDF 'accidentally' find the weapons that, who knows, maybe their own IDF operatives planted. The IDF takes the weapons into custody. The IDF transfers the weapons to the custody of the weapons smugglers. The weapons smugglers bring them back into Lebanon, again. The whole thing is just a drain on Lebanon's economy. Or maybe just a PR stunt. For $820,000, you could get a pallet or two of high-torque electric motors. Attach shanks, drills and milling heads to suitably rigid frames and you have the equivalent of a Bridgeport mill or an industrial lathe or maybe a big-ass 3D printer. Then you just need to buy steel, and blueprints. Or you could research using a big fresnel lense to melt sand, to build some of your parts - use sand, where modern guns use plastic, while you work on producing a higher grade of ceramic that will fill the place of steel. There are some videos of someone doing that, on Youtube, from a few years ago. Ceramic can also be used for body armor. Buying guns is so 20th century! C'mon, Hamas, get with the times.
