Beware of fake breeders. I'd suggest not paying over 500 for a pup on Craigslist. If they are pure breed pups they will be on a breeding site or have proof of being pure breed. Backyard breeders 9/10 are some form of puppymill. Abusing and over breeding the parents to death. And giving almost no care to the pups and parents, exploiting beautiful life for money. Please, please, do NOT contribute to them. You can get the same breed of puppy for the same price or less with the pup being papered, vaccinated, registered, flea treated, and come with food and toys and contribute to safe breeding.
