Foiled Midlothian Robberies Lead To Charges For Bridgeview Man

MIDLOTHIAN, IL — A man who walked into two Midlothian businesses next door to each other near 147th and Cicero looking for money by implying he had a gun came away with nothing but felony robbery charges Saturday night, police in the Chicago suburb said. Midlothian police said on Facebook that Raymond Pressley, 43, of Bridgeview, first went into Madori's Liquors at 14710 S. Cicero Ave. around 7:30 p.m., demanded money from the clerk and "inferred that he had a handgun." The clerk refused to give him any money, police said, and Pressley left the store. Police said Pressley then went into the En Lai Restaurant next door at 14706 S. Cicero Ave. and did the same thing. The clerk at En Lai also refused to give him money, police said. Pressley was found in the area and was in custody later that night, Midlothian Police Chief Daniel Delaney said. Felony robbery charges against him were pending, Delaney said.
