Chicago Sky Lose to Washington 89-85 in OT

The Chicago Sky's streaky season continued with an 89085 OT loss at home to the Washington Mystics. The seesaw game mirrored the season in general for the Sky. The Sky were down 31-22 at the end of the first quarter, but came back in the second to make it 46-44 at halftime. It was 70-62 Washington after three quarters, but the Sky came back to tie it at 82-82 and send the game into overtime. Unfortunately, the Mystics outscored the Sky 7-3 in OT to take the win. Stefanie Dolson led the Sky with 20 points. The Sky got double-doubles from both Cheyenne Parker (17 points, 13 rebounds) and Courtney Vandersloot (13 points, 15 assists). Kahleah Copper (11 points) and Allie Quigley (16 points) also scored in double digits. Chicago finishes the first part of the season at 10-10, good for a tie with New York for second place in the Eastern Conference. They are also tied with New York for fifth place overall in the WNBA, which eliminates conference affiliations in their playoffs. The Sky has had an up and down year. They won their first two games, then lost seven straight. They bounced back to win seven in a row. They lost one, won one and now lost two in a row. The WNBA plays games today, then has a break for the Olympics. The Sky retrn to action on Sunday, August 15 as they host the Seattle Storm.
