The Southeast Railway Museum, “Georgia’s Official Transportation History Museum,” in Duluth, Georgia, is seeking to hire several friendly, outgoing and dependable individuals to join our Ticket Office staff. This small group is responsible for opening and closing the museum and for collecting admissions. Although SRM is almost entirely staffed by volunteers, these are paid positions.The museum currently is open four days a week, Thursday through Sunday, and Ticket Office staffers normally work one or two days per week. A moderate level of physical strength is required to open some of the doors and railcars, along with the ability to tolerate a range of temperatures and weather conditions. This is an extremely enjoyable part-time job for anyone interested in history who also enjoys interacting with the public and children. It’s also a perfect position for a retiree who needs to get out some. A background check will be performed on suitable applicants. SRM is a 60-year old 501(c)3 non-profit and is the largest train museum in Georgia both in acreage and number of pieces of rolling stock.
