Press release from the Atlanta Police Department: 07/11/2021 211911648 Preliminary Information: On July 10, 2021 around 10:22 pm, officers responded to Wieuca Rd/Roswell Rd in reference to a suspicious package. A witness indicated that a that a red-haired female placed a small box at the intersection near the traffic light. Officers shut down the intersection and alerted SWAT, The APD Bomb unit (EOD) and Homeland Security. Further investigation revealed no explosives were detected and the package was found to contain the remains of a dead bird. It was disposed of on scene and officers cleared the call. No injuries or property damage reported.   Please keep in mind the above information is preliminary in nature and can change as the investigation progresses and new information comes to light.
