My small-batch and custom furniture studio is in need of a couple sets of hands to help with sanding. Part time, 12-24 hours a week, now through September/October. The shop is located in Springfield, must be able to provide own transportation (it is near a great bike path, about a 20 ride from UO). Students welcome. Cash weekly. $15/hour. This is a small studio, and the only way we survive is by creating unique and elegant pieces, so the job requires serious attention to detail as well as care for the materials and process. You'll need to be able to stand for 6+ hours, lift 40 lbs, work safely around light shop machinery and other people. Must be at least familiar with fine sanding fundamentals and committed to growing towards perfecting the craft process. No tolerance for racism/bigotry, homophobia, misogyny, bootlickers.
