Gunner is up for ADOPTION from the Austin Animal Center SHELTER. Gunner has been looking for a home since Decmber 2019. He's a great dog that is house trained, won't destroy anything in your house, can use a dog door and knows sit. Gunner isn't bothered by thunderstorms or fireworks and he doesn't get separation anxiety. Gunner has never met a person he doesn't like. I fact, Gunner prefers humans over other dogs so he needs to be an only pet. This means he can't go to pet stores or dog parks. Who needs them? I believe Gunner would like an older kid to play with. Gunner is about 4 years old, weighs 65 pounds, is up to date on shots and is neutered. Gunner loves car rides to curbside pickups, squeaky toys and playing tug. When Gunner plays alone with his toys, he spins one way and then the other before doing a bunny hop on it. It's fun to watch. Gunner also likes to trance - he walks extrememly slowly around a plant that rubs the top of his back. Gunner has shown that praise, treats (he takes them gently) and positive reinforcement work well to teach him what your expectations are. Adoption fees have been waived at Austin Animal Center and Gunner comes with free training assistance from Friends of AAC’s Behavior Assistance Program. Gunner also comes with a boatload of supplies, toys, treats and enough Advantage Multi to protect him from heartworms and fleas through February 2022. He's ready to move in! I TOOK HIM OUT OF A KENNEL AT THE AUSTIN ANIMAL CENTER HOPING TO GIVE HIM A SHOT AT A LIFE WITH A FAMILY. I WOULD NEVER ALLOW HIM TO GO TO A HOME I HAVE NOT FULLY VETTED MYSELF.***
