Bass player looking for Americana/Folk/Alt-Acoustic in SW Suburbs

Description

I am a bass player looking to have fun and play some Americana/Folk/Alt-Acoustic sort of stuff ideally in or near the SW Suburbs. Sing along/campfire stuff, coffee shop/singer-songwriter vibe, folk songbook classics through more modern Americana/alt acoustic. Maybe you are a guitar player/singer or better yet an acoustic duo/trio that lacks bass? I play primarily electric bass but with a very pro-acoustic sound/style. I usually use a vintage style Fender Mustang with flatwounds if that helps the mental picture. I do occasionally break out an acoustic bass guitar as well. Played some upright in the past but just too much hassle so I sold that old oversized furniture long ago. Played with a trio years ago which was acoustic guitar, a mix of mandolin/banjo, and everyone contributing to vocals. I can sing, not a harmony master by any means but I usually guess the right spots, will take some leads. I keep the bass pretty simple, good sense of rhythm, know the sound and place to move the music and not make a scene. I really want to play with others again, finally at a place in life with some free time. Open minded late 40's working adult/parent. Definitely not looking to tour the nation or get a recording deal but wouldn't be opposed to an occasional gig. If you are that established duo/trio and want to add bass even part-time that would be especially awesome. I did that with my prior trio, they played together regularly and I would join for a gig here and there. Anyway, not sure what to expect from a "musician" posting on Craigslist so I guess I won't be surprised by stone cold silence or invitations to go play in the royal court of a Nigerian prince for a cool 10 mil!
