Description

Hi! I am a guitar player looking to possibly start a new project for fun. Seeking keys, drums, bass, and maybe sax (tenor would be ideal). Saturday late mornings or afternoons in RR. Me: 39 y.o. teacher with a family. Been playing guitar for 23 years. Decent, but not a pro. I play in a gigging country band and a casual jazz band, and am really into becoming a better jazz player at the moment. Looking to play in a mellow R&B/soul/funky instrumental band to keep becoming a better player. Can get us gigs if we ever get to that point. Thinking it would be cool to start with playing out of the R&B Real Book. Bands/albums I'm into (so that you have an idea of the sound I'd like to shoot for): - Stuff (band) - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MZcTP3-ARFQ - Vulfpeck - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8DRCGcuByQc - Erykah Badu - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BbO07VxeQHc - Herbie Hancock "Manchild" album - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OxJJ90bk55w - Miles Davis - "In a Silent Way" - All mid-late 70s soul/R&B/funk - Stuff (band) - mentioning them twice on purpose. If all of the bullets above make sense to you and you think you'd be interested in meeting up, let me know! I just ask that you are a nice, friendly, down-to-earth person who can play and read charts. Thank you for looking!
