Moving to San Diego from New Mexico. Any places to live?

Me and my friend are 2 20 year old guys from las cruces looking to find a place for ourselves. The thing is we’re both gig workers/ freelancers. We’re just trying to find better paying work which is out here in California. we have the money saved up to set ourselves up but haven’t found a place that will take us. I just want to reach out to anyone who may be a private owner we’re we can arrange a deal to rent an apartment, house, duplex, garage, whatever so we can start a new phase in our lives. I’ve never left my home state before and I just want to find a place I can have my start. We both have experience in general labor jobs such as landscaping, moving, pressure washing, construction laborer, etc. we have our own cars and just want to work out a deal with someone. Maybe we could maintain a property for you and we can get a discounted rent? I know it’s a lot but just wanting to shoot my shot in the dark to see if anyone has anything they could offer.
