Hello All. I am from Sacramento but stopped in Fairfield at the AMPM on N. Texas St. across from Lowe’s. A worker at the gas station was tending to a Shih Tzu right out front of the door in 100F+ weather. She called animal control to come get the dog, but she didn’t know when they would arrive and she had to get back to work. Unfortunately, the dog was not allowed in the store so she was just hoping that he would stay out front until animal control could get him. It didn’t feel right leaving him outside and unattended in the middle of a heat wave, so I ended up taking him on my trip. I posted him in a Fairfield lost and found pets group on Facebook hoping that someone would claim him by the time I would pass through Fairfield later in the day, but it was actually Fairfield in Australia. SMH. Shame on me. Anyways, I took the dog back with me to Sacramento and will be taking him to get scanned on Monday (7/12). I am waiting to be approved to the Fairfield, CA lost and found pets group so I haven’t been able to post anything there yet. Also, I looked on Pawboost and I think I may have found his owners. I emailed them because they didn’t leave a number and I haven’t heard back from them yet. The Shih Tzu is super cute but he is matted. Because he is so fluffy he looks well fed but I can feel his protruding spine. He didn’t have a collar on him when he was found, but I ended up putting one on him. He’s also unaltered and friendly. I have a super busy day today (7/11) and will not be reachable until after 5pm.
