Swara Lahari (the music wing of Yuva Bharati) presents a Hindustani Sarod concert as part of their open-air Music in the Park series. Mallar Bhattacharya - Sarod Mallar Bhattacharya is a sarod player of the Senia Maihar Gharana. Mallar has received extensive training from his Guru, Ustad Aashish Khan, sarod maestro and Khalifa of the Senia Maihar gharana and from the legendary Baba Ali Akbar Khan. Mallar has also learned extensive repertoire of the Maihar gharana from his father Dr. Jahar Bhattacharya and from Dr. George Ruckert. Raaginder Singh Momi - Violin Raaginder is a violinist and music composer hailing from the school of Maihar-Seni Gharana. He implements improvisation, rhythmic patterns, and the sounds of Indian Classical music on a modified five-string violin. Raaginder has performed in prominent venues across the world, and his art brings forth a new, intense, and interesting sound for his audiences. Nilan Chaudhuri - Tabla Nilan has spent his entire life immersed in the tradition of Indian Classical Percussion. The son of Maestro Swapan Chaudhuri and a disciple of Ustad Ali Akbar Khan, he received his first Tabla lesson from his father at the age of five. Nilan has performed as a Tabla soloist and accompanist for over a decade at prestigious venues across the globe. Swara Lahari (the music wing of Yuva Bharati) promotes Classical Indian Music in the Bay Area and beyond.
