Description

Let's use our sourdough starter to make cookies! Looking for something else to do with your sourdough starter? Want to get into whole grain baking but don’t know where to start? Rye and buckwheat are 2 of my favorite grains to work with, so let’s have some fun and make cookies with them! Whole grains have unique flavors, exquisite textures, and when the flour is stone-ground, organic and sourced regionally it is healthier for our bodies, and better for our local economy and ecology. In this 2 hour workshop we will bake off a batch of pre-made sourdough rye chocolate chip cookies. Together we will make a batch of buckwheat shortbread for you to take and bake at home. Recipes for both will be provided. Bring your own apron. www.okbreadmagic.com We will be following the latest CDC guidelines at the time of the event to ensure the safety of all participants. Safety measurements and precautions will be emailed to participants leading up to the event. Cat is the pastry chef and baker at Farm Bar and formerly the sous chef and bread/pastry wizard at Living Kitchen Farm and Dairy. She is obsessed with all things fermentation, most notably sourdough bread. She's been baking since she got her hands on her mother's Betty Crocker cookbook in the 90's.  Additional workshops listed on website.
