Come practice being present and slowing down. Take a break from your screens and learn to take control of your time and your mind. What is Mindfulness? Mindfulness is the practice of taking control of your emotions and intrusive thoughts. When you feel stressed, anxious, depressed, or are just having a hard time connecting, mindfulness can help you take a break from those emotions and reset. Why do you need to try it? Mindfulness is an evidence-based practice that has been seen to significantly reduce stress hormones in the brain, symptoms of anxiety and depression, increase self-compassion, and increase your ability to cope with daily stressors. With regular practice, these exercises can change the way you view the world resulting in increased self-esteem, confidence, happiness, and peace. It helps you quiet your mind so you can hear your true voice and find what makes you happy. Spending time in nature has also been proven to be hugely beneficial for physical and mental health. So we are doing it together! What will this time look like? Mindful walking is not a physical exercise but a slow and intentional walk in a natural space. We will connect together at first to make sure we are all grounded and centered. We will practice letting our thoughts flow in and out of our head without worry or action. Then you will be given some mindful invitations to practice as you walk through the park. At the end, we will come back together for an optional gratitude exercise. You will leave feeling lighter and with the mindful invitations to practice in your own space. All information for meeting space and what to bring will be sent to you prior to the event.
