CHELSEA, MA — A 22-month-old boy was hit and killed by a delivery driver in Chelsea on Saturday, according to police. The boy was hit along Bellingham Street just after noon, according to Chelsea police. He was rushed to Mass General Hospital in critical condition. Around 1 p.m., Chelsea police Chief Brian Kyes tweeted that the boy had died. "Our deepest condolences to the family. Absolutely heartbreaking," Kyes wrote. The delivery driver stayed at the scene, and state police were investigating the cause of the fatal collision, Kyes said.
