EAST HAVEN, CT — A tree has come down on a Bradley Street house in East Haven, Fire Chief Matt Marcarelli told Patch.
While Marcarelli said, so far, East Haven has been spared major flooding, he's hoping that winds don't increase and down tree limbs. The very saturated ground can produce events like this one, where whole deeply-rooted trees may become vulnerable.
"Wet ground after many days of rain, and with trees full of leaves catching wind could topple them easily," Marcarelli said.
And a tree fell on a power line on Grannis Street, he noted.
Marcarelli cautioned people to avoid downed trees and power lines, and flooded roadways.
