Press release from the Boulder County Sheriff's Office: July 9, 2021 Injured hiker rescued on the First Flatiron Trail Boulder County, Colo. - On Friday, July 9, 2021 at approximately 1:40 p.m., the Boulder County Communications Center was notified of an injured hiker on the First Flatiron Trail. A twenty-six year-old male from Golden, CO experienced a medical emergency that led to a fall while hiking on the First Flatiron Trail. Rocky Mountain Rescue Group provided initial medical care and a wheeled-litter evacuation to the trailhead. American Medical Response provided further medical care and ambulance transport to an area hospital. The rescue lasted approximately one hour.
