Wanted: Woman to play guitar and sing with What I’m envisioning is something like the Indigo Girls, but if you bought it off Wish. Or maybe like Tenacious D but instead of Jack Black and the other guy, it’s you and me Material-wise, I like a lot of music and I’m up for country, soul, jazz, rock, really whatever. I will say that this morning I started learning the opening part of Crazy Train by Ozzy Osbourne and frankly I think it would make a sick acoustic cover if there were two guitars and two singers. If you’re into the idea of trying Crazy Train, we’re definitely on the same page. As far as gigs or playing out, I don’t really care either way.. part of this is me wanting to get over some of my nerves that come when playing around others, but I don’t think I’m good enough to play out right now anyway. If we get to that point and have some good songs in the bag, I’d probably be down. Me: Woman in my 30s, work a 9-5, been playing acoustic guitar on and off as a hobby since I was a teenager. I’ve performed live a handful of times and was in a short-lived band, but I’m not classically trained and I only know a little bit music theory-wise. Most of my theory knowledge was picked up from childhood piano lessons and high school band. I mostly learn guitar from tabs and YouTube. I’m also an amateur singer, again self-taught, though I try to take decent care of my voice and I learned some warmups from the internet that I do if I’m planning to sing in front of people. You: Woman (or not, but I’m enjoying the Amy/Emily fantasy still) who wants someone to play and sing with, and can meet up at least once every week or two to practice. One more thing, for what it’s worth I’m sober—so to be clear, this is not an excuse to get tipsy and rock out together. Nothing wrong with that, and if I’d been writing this post ten years ago that would have 100% been the aim, but my goal today is to become a better guitar player. I still party hard in the metaphorical sense though, and ideally looking for someone who can match that energy <3
