CONCORD, NH — Tropical Storm Elsa is in the process of pouring rain down upon the state of New Hampshire — which may lead to flash flooding across the state. Weather forecasters extended the flash flood warning to 9 p.m. on Friday, in some parts of Merrimack, Hillsborough, and Rockingham counties (we're sure the mighty Merrimack will be roaring tomorrow and Sunday). The storm surge on the Seacoast, expected to be 1 to 2 feet, with 5 to 8 foot waves, is forecast to last through Saturday midday. "If you are in an area where flooding is occurring, take action immediately and move to higher ground," state Homeland Security and Emergency Management Director Jennifer Harper said. "If you are in a vehicle, turn around, don't drown. Never drive through flooded roadways. If you need emergency assistance, dial 9-1-1." A judge has thrown out a lawsuit against the Hollis Brookline School District about mask mandates for students, that was brought against the school district by parents, according to the New Hampshire Union Leader. An attorney argued the mandates violate NH RSA 126-U, a state child restraint provision. Bedford, Epping, Londonderry, Timberlane, and other school districts are also facing lawsuits. In the Granite State, it is never too early to talk presidential primary politics, and that is what they are doing over at WMUR-TV after U.S. Rep. Dan Crenshaw (R-TX), a former Navy Seal, attended a fundraiser for Republicans in Concord on Thursday. Speaking of WMUR-TV, congratulations to Hayley Lapoint, a meteorologist at the station, who just had her third child, Thalia.
