Ok, We have a train getting ready to leave the station. As a drummer and bassist package, we decided to take a more inventive approach toward this kind of (bass - drum) relationship toward music. To us, today’s music needs a fresh creative spark, and that starts with an interesting rhythm section. Music needs to breath again and not be constrained by computers, click tracks or other forms of mechanical manipulation. We are experienced LIVE players and serious players, but we REALLY like to have fun with the music while keeping it real, open and fresh. The balancing act is to keep the improvisational quality alive but still within a logical framework. What we are looking for: We are looking for any musicians who can relate to what was said above. Musicians who love playing live and enjoy inspiring an audience. A guitarist, keyboardist or horn players with some jazz sensibility would be good. Certainly an ability to explore and create across various time signatures. We prefer relatively clean players, not drenched in heavy effects or distortion etc. We love tube amps etc, great sounding instruments that don’t need an abundance of additional colorization (some is ok). We prefer instrumental music because we believe that if presented correctly, we can still capture the attention of an audience without a “front” person. We are interested in working as “a band” and not as a backing band for a soloist or vocalist etc… and we also believe that instrumental music is something that can help heal and bring people together without lyrical opinions or political rhetoric. Our rhythm section is designed to be a clean and open canvass for the melodic players to express their beauty and magic. We have about a dozen tracks worked out that we are happy with rhythmically. What will you bring to the music on the melodic side? We are not interesting in telling you how to play your instrument. We are looking for “chemistry” players who understand what we are trying to do and want to be part of this experience. We have a great space to play, record, rehearse etc in the Benicia/ Vallejo area. We have quality gigs ready when we are ready and our focus will be on the LIVE playing experience.
