Mandolin Player ISO local jams

Meets

Washougal WA

Description

I just moved to to my hometown just east of Washougal and I'm looking to network and jam with musicians who have similar interests. I used to run a bluegrass band in eastern Washington before I moved west. We recorded a studio album and did a little over 200 shows over the course of 5 years, starting in coffeeshops, then on to bars, and eventually building up to playing several weddings every summer as well as a couple of county fairs. My main instrument is mandolin, though I studied jazz saxophone through college. I also play a custom 5-string electric octave mandolin. It's got mini humbuckers and I can cut out a coil to get a classic Tele sound also. I've got a PA and a bunch of other sound equipment. I'm interested in getting to network with local musicians with any of the following interests: classic bluegrass, honky tonk and alt country. A few of my favorite sounds include the Tony Rice Unit, Son Volt, Sturgill Simpson, and Neil Young. I'd like to eventually get a band going again, and the direction totally depends on personnel. For starters, let's jam. Portland is not really my neighborhood. Anybody between Stevenson and Vancouver?
