If we limit the history that e teach our kids, it is exactly the same thing as removing statues from our public places that emphasize unpleasant parts of our history. As a nation, we need to be aware of our shortcomings. If this means uncomfortable symbols and conversations, so be it. Truth matters. No difference. Claiming that Jefferson, Washington, Adams and the rest of the founders were racist and deserve to be torn down is a lie. Teaching my 10 year old that her parents are racist cuz of the color of their skin is a lie, racist and sick and evil. Our history?
