My approach to the language is a unique one as instead of drilling students with grammar lessons students actually get a “hands on” approach. Over the years I have found this to be highly-effective in speeding up the “acquisition process” ( knowing how to really use it) vs repetitive grammar exercises. Overloading a “learning brain” with foreign language grammar can not only slow down the process but can also discourage students from wanting to learn especially children or teenagers. We are conditioned to believing there’s no way around the boredom part of it if you want to master the language but there’s always more than one way to skin a cat. In my approach it’s not only fun but most importantly effective. Besides, all too often you invest money into learning a foreign language only to ever be able to ask basic questions and make basic statements & even then very poorly. Many a time the literature will say you don’t learn because you don’t want to but I believe you don’t learn because it’s simply not engaging enough nor memorable & if you can’t remember it what’s the point?
