There is room here for you. Come dance in it. The Center SF is excited to be hosting Ecstatic Sundays dually in our yoga studio AND on outdoor patio simultaneously. Slide and roll around on the floor of our bamboo room or bask in rays of sunshine and fresh air on the patio. We aim to create a safe, inviting container where you are able to let go and groove. We are calling community back in and around this magical space with rotating Dj's. We're partnering with Bloom to help you connect with others interested in Ecstatic Sunday. July 11th- Leapin Lygress Leapin’ Lygress roams far and wide in the jungles of sound, hunting beats, breaks, and melodies served from the heart to move your body and soul. Her ecstatic dance sets feature an eclectic array of organic and electronic music woven into a tapestry intended to explore the full spectrum of human expression. She is a dancer’s dj, having been an ecstatic dancer since she discovered the form at Kalani Honua on the Big Island of Hawaii in 2007. Leapin’ Lygress offers a ferociously fun ride that will awaken the wild creature within and leave you with a deep appreciation for the magic of movement in community July 18th- Arula Arula is a singer-songwriter, electronic music producer, and embodied-movement guide. She views music & movement as sacred expressions of a universal language; a language that unites and empowers people from all backgrounds. As a lover of many varieties of music she interplays with genres, while difficult to categorize her music is often described as haunting, sultry, and sacred. Her voice is a bridge to ethereal realms, unparalleled but reminiscent of Kate Bush, Florence Welch, & Sevdaliza. August 1st- DJ K-Luh K-Luh’s musical journeys explore polarizing energies and everything in between, honoring masculine and feminine, light and dark. From hair raising vocals to dirty bass-lines, her sets consist of bass, trap, world, house, soul, and R&B infused with tribal and psychedelic undertones. As a dancer, K-Luh’s selections are designed to activate various parts of the body and inspire new and funky ways to wiggle. August 8th- The Shalman While grooving at the legendary Yoga Barn in Bali, Shalman first got the idea to take fellow dancers on a shamanic experience through sound and movement and began playing dancefloors on the island in 2020. He takes his cues from his global travels, infusing organic house, medicine music, South American and African tribal, and Middle Eastern mystical melodies to take the audience on a spiritual journey to move their bodies as a form of prayer and medicine. August 15th- Fractal Force Fractal Force combines ethereal textures, emotive sounds design, Sanskrit Mantras, Tribal House, West Coast bass, hip hop beats and dramatic overtones. His music honors the tradition of Liquid Bloom, Porangui and Atyya. Lush, hypnotic, intense and highly ecstatic and danceable.
