Wear comfortable clothes. All donations from the event will go to Compassion International - an organization that helps children in poverty all over the world. The word yoga comes from the root word 'yuj' in Sanskrit, the language of ancient India. It means union, integration, or wholeness. It is an approach to health, wellbeing, and spiritual growth that promotes the harmonious collaboration of the human being's three components: body, mind, and spirit. Although yoga has become popular with its hatha yoga practice like asana (poses), pranayama (breathing exercise), and meditation, its deep philosophy can give a blueprint of living life with purpose and to the fullest. As per a Harvard study, yoga offers on the mat as well as off the mat benefits for both physical and mental health, many of them are validated by science though not all. While the physical practice of yoga has become very popular in the last two decades, slowly but surely now the trend is changing as the wellness world has special attention to mental health. More and more people are learning and practicing yoga's breathing exercises and meditation besides yoga poses as these have shown not only many physical benefits but also as many mental health benefits.
