Pershing Field Garden Friends presents Moth Observations during National Moth Week Join PFGF on Tuesday evening, July 20th as we celebrate National Moth Week. This free event provides an opportunity to experience the extraordinary world of moths. There are some 160,000 species of moths in the world, with nearly 11,000 in the United States. Sign-in starts at 8:30 PM. PFGF will set up lights and provide attendees the tools to put out bait to attract moths. Observation begins around 9:30 PM as it gets dark. The event ends at 10:00 PM. It will be dark when we observe the moths so, please be sure to bring a flashlight to safely move around the area. As a community based organization, our goal is to beautify our neighborhood, celebrate diversity, and contribute to the well being of our community through gardening. We acknowledge that the beautification of our parks and public spaces dramatically impacts our quality of life, improves the health if citizens, lowers crime and drug related activity and spawns neighborhood revitalization.
