Description

Neighbors who live east of Broadway, from Foster to Ainslie, are invited to join Alderman Osterman for a community visioning meeting. **This is a BYOC -- Bring Your Own Chair -- event** Join neighbors, business owners, and other Argyle-area stakeholders for a conversation about the future of the area. This will be the first of many community engagements about how we as a community would like to see cultural preservation & celebration incorporated into future events and developments in this part of our community. We will be joined by leaders from Chinese Mutual Aid Association, Uptown United/Uptown Chamber of Commerce, Haibayo, and Celebrate Argyle. About this series of meetings: This summer 48th Ward Alderman Harry Osterman will host a series of hyper-local Community Visioning Meetings. As we begin to emerge from the pandemic, our office is beginning to receive inquiries and proposals regarding new developments. Our Community Visioning Meetings will be opportunities to connect with neighbors to collaborate on a shared vision for the future of our community. Along with proposals currently coming to the 48th Ward office, our community is seeing the largest investment in public infrastructure in a lifetime with the Red Purple Modernization Project. With the completion of this project -- including new stations, embankments, and tracks between Bryn Mawr and Lawrence -- we expect to see additional private investments with the renovation and redevelopment of properties along the Red Line. We encourage neighbors in the following areas to join us at our meetings this summer. Registration is not required, but it will help us plan for the meetings.
