ABOUT THE ARTIST Founded in 2009, the Pete Ellman Big Band has established itself as one of the top big bands in the Chicagoland area. The band has done more than entertain lovers of great big band music. From its beginning, the band has given college, high school and middle school big bands a place to perform and listen to the swinging sounds of big band jazz. The band has also brought in world-renowned guest artists such as Jeff Coffin, Wayne Bergeron, Peter Erskine, Andy Martin, Wycliff Gordon, Eric Miyashiro, Tommy Igoe, Grace Kelly, and Denis DiBlasio…just to name a few. At The Venue, we book nationally-recognized talent in all genres of music from blues and big band, to rock and world music, and everything in between. Frequently, our opening acts feature regional and local musicians and songwriters. Our listening room seats 200 with no obstructed views, and our outdoor stage area can fit several hundred festival fans. The Venue is operated by the Fox Valley Music Foundation, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to music education, promotion and preservation.
