Discover the romantic and frightful journeys that members of the Women’s Army Corps (WACs) took during World War II. In this presentation, Cyndee Schafer traces the footsteps of her mother, Mollie Weinstein Schaffer, and her fellow WACs when they served in Europe during the Allied Powers’ remarkable invasion of Western Europe and Germany from 1944 to 1945.
The DuPage County Historical Museum functions as the only institution dedicated to the collection, preservation and interpretation of the material culture documenting the county of DuPage, Illinois.
Its principal purposes are to educate the general public through the collection, preservation, interpretation, and exhibition of materials which document the history of DuPage County and its relationship to Illinois and the nation, and to provide local history services for historical organizations and for scholarly endeavors.
