Description

The Chazen Museum of Art is open for the spring semester! The Chazen Museum of Art is currently open at reduced capacity, with free admission. The museum will be open Tuesday-Wednesday, 12-5 p.m. and Thursday-Friday, 12-7 p.m. To visit the museum, please register for a 45-minute visit at the designated time slots. Walk-in visitors may be accommodated if occupancy allows. For the safety of visitors and museum staff, we will limit the number of visitors in the museum at any given time. During this reopening phase, temporary exhibitions and limited permanent exhibition galleries in the Chazen building will be open to the public. Open areas will vary according to exhibition schedule and rotations. Please be mindful of your reservation time as to allow others to enjoy the galleries. The Chazen Café is open for grab-and-go items and retail selections, Monday-Friday 9:00 AM-5:00 PM. You do not need a reservation to visit the café. Please plan to enjoy your café items outside of the building. There are several outdoor benches and tables available near the museum. Groups are welcome! Up to 10 people can be added on on a reservation slot. For larger groups, please contact [email protected] for assistance. Gallery occupancy may require the group to split up once in the building. All individuals are asked to maintain social distancing. Per University and CDC guidelines, fully vaccinated visitors will no longer be required to wear face coverings at the Chazen Museum of Art. For the safety of our visitors and staff, if you or someone in your household are exhibiting the symptoms of COVID-19, we ask you to stay at home. The Chazen Museum of Art works to collect, preserve, interpret, and exhibit works of art and present related educational programs in support of the teaching, research, and public service mission of the University of Wisconsin–Madison. We do this because the visual arts enrich individual human experience and because knowledge of art is essential to understanding diverse cultures, past and present.
